Lucid dreams make the vox go crazy.
I had a dream last night where asreal and I were sitting outside on some bleachers, and then I noticed some goopy stuff on him.. and his jacket was wet, so I unzipped it... then I noticed that the shirt he was wearing was soaked too, so I lifted it up...
And there were 6-7 holes around his stomach, and he was bleeding pretty badly, so I kept wiping blood off with gauze.. over and over, but it still kept coming. It wasn't all runny blood though. There were blood clot formations and everything... it was so vivid and so real... and of course, I've seen a lot of wounds in my day... this seemed to be like one big amalgamate of every wound I've seen. And I've had bleeders before. Anyway, it was a sad dream because I couldn't save him, and I went away to sit at a desk and sterilize all my equipment alone.
So today.... I was starting an IV, and it didn't look like I was in the vein because I wasn't getting any blood flashback.. so I took it out, and she started squirting blood (because I WAS in the vein) and it was so much like my dream that I almost freaked out. Blood doesn't scare me. But seeing someone bleed to death in a dream.. well, that's another story. Especially if it's a significant other.
So I got the IV in... and it went interstitial... so we took it out.. and it bled again (which meant it WAS in the vein... AGAIN).
And then when I was going for my supper break, the LPN was helping clean up one of my patients, and she ended up tying the restraints on wrong, so when I got back, I found my patient soaking in NG tube feed because she took out her NG tube (hence the restraints) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it set me back, and I made the LPN insert a new one, and then we had to get a chest x-ray to make sure it was in the right place, and then we had to wait for someone to read the results... which took a while because apparently there aren't radiologists on weekends or holidays.....
Sometimes I just don't know how I'm going to fit all of my day into a shift.
It was just one of those days.... sigh.
At least I got out of taking a poo sample and cleaning up my patient. Mwahahahaha.
Happy time and a half day, nonetheless.
