It was so beautiful.
After sitting at two stop lights which were blind to me and my little Buzzy, and a disoriented walk around many very large buildings, I found the one I was supposed to be in, and it was rather creepy in a technological kinda way.
I opened a door that reminded me of the chemistry labs in school, and walked into the room, telling the receptionist that I needed to get some fingerprints. A lady in the back called that I could have hers, and we all laughed as the receptionist prepared some paperwork and told me that she was just happy because the sun was shining.
Paperwork filled, the receptionist gently took each hand, pressed my fingers onto a red pad of ink, wiggling them slightly, and gently pressing and rolling them on the paper. She commented that my hands were cold, so it must be sunny but cold. I laughed, but stopped short when I realized that the room had no windows. Zero. Not one.
As I wiped the ink from my fingers and left, a darkness descended across the room, where these girls work for hours, unaware of the existence of an outside world with sun and blue skies, and a pleasant chill.
