So I come home from work on Sautrday morning completely pissed and post a rant. When I hit the Submit button I get the SG Maintenance screen. Check back later and of course my entry was gone. Oh, well. I felt better anyway.
Didn't do anything Friday night but stop for a couple of pints after work with a few guys.

Saturday, I drove down to Waterford in southeast Ireland after I left work. Went looking for some photo opportunities. Waterford was crowded and I couldn't find a parking space so I left and stopped of in New Ross. Had a decent pint of Guinness at Kennedy's Bar. I started heading back to meet up with Bob and Val in Dublin but saw the sign for the Hook Lighthouse. Only 30 km this way, sure it is. I found it and took several photos. Waves started kicking up with the wind so I hope I was able to get some nice ones. I started get pelted by horizontal sleet and rain. That stung a bit. So I hit the road back to Dublin. Traffic was horrible in Dublin. They had many of the streets closed for the fireworks and traffic was worse than usual. I decided to go home and take a cab back into town. Would've cost me that much for parking, plus I ate at home instead of eating out which is never cheap. The 3 of us had a few before the others arrived. Bob and Val were already drinking for 6 hours when I showed up. Closed that place down and went to a late night club. Closed that one too. I only drank about half a pint at the second place. Didn't want/need it but someone bought it for me so I did my best. We scrounged around and made wahtever food we could find at Jon's apartment. About 5:00AM everyone was crashing. I took a cab home and showered for work.
I was wanting to give some grief to the guy that gave me some the previous day. But he didn't show up before my tests were done and I couldn't wait any longer. I was falling asleep standing there. Must get to bed.

Bob called me for golf. I went since I hadn't played in quite some time. We had planned it the night before, but I was hoping they would sleep through it. The winds were terribly strong. About 50 MPH. It wasn't cold though. At least, not yet. The first hole I was doing so poorly, I just picked up my ball. Started the next hole the same but then got it going again. Eventually the rains came and soaked us. Now it was cold. I was seriously chilled to the bone.
But once the rain stopped, we got to see the most incredible rainbow. You could see it from start to finish. We were on higher ground so it seemed as though it enveloped the houses below in colors. Incredibly bright. There were some fainters ones that formed on each side of it. It just glowed so wonderfully.

After I got home, I took a shower and it hurt. I just curled up underneath the covers shivering my ass off. Eventually I forced myself up to go get some chinese takeaway, which really hit the spot, before we met for Starsky & Hutch. Met the crowd at a bar and had a Irish coffee to try and warm up further.
The movie was enjoyable. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are great. Sometimes a bit over the top, but still funny. Bow wow wow yippe yo yippe yay Snoop Dawwwgy Daawwgg. It was good.

Monday, they finally picked up my car to be repaired from when we were hit on Dec 23. Not much else, but still drained from the weeked. Came home for lunch and took a nap. Had a few pints after work and finally made the chili I was going to make last week. I'll eat it for a few days. I usually do that when I'm not with the family. I'll make something simple and eat it for several days and then make something else. I don't like cooking for myself, just other people. I do feel isolated as hell right now. Being stuck on an island in the north Atlantic is not quite the same as being a few states away.
Now on to Tuesday. I was supposed to go out tonight with the crowd again since this is supposedly the bigger day for drinking. I guess since everyone is off tomorrow for the holiday. Not feeling much like going out all night again. The parade is around noon tomorrow and no one will want to go if we are out until 5. Plus they want to go to a club which I pretty much hate. The music is too fucking loud so it is near impossible to talk. I might not go. That is how I'm feeling at this point. I sure as hell don't want to go to Cafe Insane. That's not how to spell it though. It is a French name but I really don't care.

So there we are......
