Obligatory Intro Post....6 months too late.
It always seems to happen whenever I tell someone that I'm a member of SG. The reaction(s) go like this -
1) Either an incredulous "WTF is wrong with you" look after mentioning what exactly the site is all about (even after I say there's other things to it than just naked women). That's usually from the women.
2) A high-five or some other form of appreciation (dudes).
3) A hit across my arm that seriously hurts (my best friend who is a girl).
But the first time I told my girlfriend of 8 months today about the site, she shrugged and said simply, "Do what you want." And then flashed one of her winning smiles.
My name is Damion, a.k.a. Penguin, a.k.a. Black Steve, a.k.a. Priest (from Firefly). I live right here in Southern Cali, and am a family man and Gamer by nature. To be honest, I had been doing the pirate thing for a while; trying to find the latest sets from here on torrenting sites and other means. But after not being able to find what I wanted for a while, I finally said "To hell with it," and dropped the cash. 4 months later and whaddya know, I'm still here.
Why I'm writing an Intro blog after not doing so for so long is simple: i got tired of seeing that black strip across my profile with the words, "You haven't posted a blog yet," or something to that effect. It felt like SG the website was scolding me for not doing something so simple, like one of those mothers that wear tracksuits and still consider their married 30-year-old to be their, "Darling BABY." Yeesh.
Most of my write-ups will tend to surround the fanaticism that is video games. I've been playing for 11 years, and I have no interest in stopping anytime soon. I own a Wii, a Red-Ringed Xbox 360, DSi, and a Super Nintendo that someone will have to shoot me to get rid of. I keep a strong ear to the ins and outs of the industry, and love a good argument/criticism/bitch-fest on the latest happenings. I am Geek, hear me roar indeed.
But for a bit about me; 20 yrs old, living with the family, unlicensed driver with a car, a friend to many and good listener, Catholic (but not obsessed), and proud to be the other half of a spectacular relationship with one of the greatest and kindest people I've ever met. Seriously, I love this girl with all my heart. Sorry if that makes me a hopeless romantic but it's DAMN true.
