I am in trouble
So i guess i should update everyone to what has been going on. I hurt my back a couple of months ago. I didn't go to the doctor until after Halloween, and being navy doctors, they gave me pain pills and told me to take it easy for a week or two. Big deal right, until my back started to spasm like the end of the world. Went back to navy medical, got stronger pain pills and a week off work. Yet again, not a big deal, and yet again a problem approaches, I spend a evening in the ER due to a bad drug reaction, and surprise surprise, get sent home with different pain pills after being diagnosed with the "flu".
Well I finally follow up with a competent Dr. She throws a fit about my condition, finally gets an X-ray and MRI done. Only took 3 months. Had the MRI on Tuesday morning, got a message that afternoon to come in to see her the next morning ASAP. WHOA. After a sleepless night, off to medical yet again I go. It turns out I have 2 herniated disks in my lower back. She sits me up a consult with an orthopedic specialist and sends me on my way with the proper pills this time.
So here it is the 30th of December and i am thinking that i would have to spend the weekend waiting for a call, or have to call them myself after another week of pain. I get off work early Friday morning and head to Lisa's house. around 9:30 get yet another phone call, and i paraphrase the tech when he said "get you a$$ here asap". WHOA x10. So I take another rushed trip to medical to see whats up. The ortho-techs i see there are amazed I am still walking and after an intense discussion with Dr and Surgeon, look at my MRI, and promptly schedule myself for surgery ASAP before i lose control of bodily functions and possibly my legs too.
Will blog more after Pre-op appointment on the 12 to let yall know what they are planning on doing. wish me luck

My best advice: Don't slack in your PT. PT is a pain in the ass, but being diligent will make the difference between stuff coming back and not coming back. I know, I've been there more than a few times.
