Right, it's time for some midweek joy. I awoke this morning, before my alarm went off at 6.40, having spent a fun portion of last night being punched around the chops. Honestly, it was good fun, it's all part of the on going Muy Thai kickboxing thing, and I got to spar with people yesterday. Anyway, got up, went to the gym, had a good workout. Now sat in front of my computer at work, waiting for a render. I'm feeling on the up today. Although I feel work and the exercise are taking over my life, my dad pointed out that I'm deciding to do these things, and it is February, and everyone tends to feel a little low at this point in the year, which for some reason made everything seem ok. On top of that, I read more of this wonderful, sort of philosophy for dummies book, called The Consolidations Of Philosophy, by Alain De Bottom, which my very thoughtful cousin sent to me.
Basically, it starts by covering a lot of the early Greek Philosophers and a very simple breakdown of their ideas in very easy to understand ways. I have no idea about philosophy and generally considered it all a bit hippy like, but as I'm getting a little older and the grand simplification of life I always thought was going to happen, hasn't. In fact, it just seems to have got a little more complicated, some in good ways, not so good in others. So, I've decided to stop being so close minded and look in different places for some answers, or just advice, and this book seems a good place to start, even if it's just to point me in further directions.
I also got some new music off a friend at work, currently listening to Quantic, think the album is mishaps happening, and it's great. Even simple things like new tunes can really brighten up my day.
Other happy things this week, went to see Cloverfield (I know, I keep going on about it, but, ah heck, no excuses, I enjoy showing off a little ), and I thought it was bloody ace. I even thought my shot looked good (it was on the brooklyn bridge sequence in case any of you are interested), and I got a full 2D artist credit at the end, which is only my second full compositiing one, really thrilling. But seriously, the film itself was kick ass, wasn't expecting it to be nearly so good as it was.
Oh, also I got a new memory card for my lovely camera, only cost 11 and now I have a whopping 4Gb in there, rather than the utterly pathetic 32Mb, which could hold about 8 pics, unless you turned the detail down. Max resolution with all nice things turned on, the new card can hold about 1200 pics. Them is a lot of pictures.
Lovely friend from Canada is arriving on saturday, can't wait to see her, it's going to be great. Also, get to see a whole sack full of you guys on the 16th, which should also be fun.
Take care, and I hope you're all getting enough sleep,
big hugs,
D x
Edit: Oh sweet, just got a free official Cloverfield poster from work. That's getting framed and going on my wall May even try and get the supervisor to sign it.

Now if we can just knock those Dirty Gunners out of the FA cup earlier in the evening, it'll be a truely great evening
I'm afraid you just said that to the wrong person!
