BORED!!!! I've been cutting out moving cars for 3 days now, and, as fun as that sounds, it can get a little tedious.
Still, on a much more positive note, I ran into my ex last night on the way home from work. This is something I've been dreading, but it turned out to be not nearly so bad as I expected. I should add this is only the second time we've seen each other in the 9 months since we split, and the last surprise meeting didn't go very well. At all.
I think I had put her on this kind of pedestal, but when I saw her last night (admittedly a little shakey), she's just a girl. A girl who used to mean the world to me granted and whom someone I'd seriously considered marriage
, but she's still just a girl. I have missed her, but I feel really empowered by meeting her like that, and not collapsing mentally. The corner has been turned.
So, off to an amazing gastro pub thing for one of my best friends birthdays this evening, looking forward to it muchly. I also have to think of text I want inked on my arm, preferably by next week, so I can get it done in Vancouver.
I was thinking of 'Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it', but I don't know whether something like that is waaaay too cheesy. Maybe something a little more succinct. Would like words that help remind me to stay happy and calm, and to focus. Any ideas? I saw some script on a tattoo once that I thought was amazing. It was on someone's lower back, and it said 'Shine on you crazy diamond'. Pink Floyd lyric, that is just beautiful.
Right, everyone else seems to have buggered off, and I'm damned if I'm going to look at anymore cars today, I'm off to the pub
Stay happy people,
Dan
