So, what started out as bronchitis has turned into walking pneumonia. I started feeling bad the last day in Vegas and on the drive home, kind of like I was catching a cold. When I saw my doc this past Thursday, he said it was bronchitis and gave me zithromax and sent me home. Well, last night I had gotten so bad that I could hardly take a breathe without choking and when I did, I could feel all kinds of shit rattling around all the way in the bottom of my lungs. I mean, I could put my hand on my back just at the bottom of my rib cage and and literally feel it.....DISGUSTING
So, what does any normal person do when they feel like they are on death's door??? Yep, that's right, call your Mom. So, I called my Mom and told her what was going on and she lost her mind, "I'm coming over there to get you right now and take you to the Urgent Care. You probably have pneumonia for God's sake!!!"
Well, isn't it funny how Moms are always right without even knowing it???
So, my diagnosis?? Walking pneumonia. Lovely, huh? Apparently, this pneumonia bug is an airborn one, that tends to float around where large groups of people congregate. Once you are lucky enough to breathe it in, it takes residence in your lungs. It starts by giving you a sore throat and awful headache, kind of like what strep throat does to you. From there, it moves on to common cold symptoms, like what I had the last day in Vegas and on the drive home. Then, the fun begins. It takes over your lungs and messes with your ability to breathe. It swells up all your lung passages and when you try to take a deep breath it chokes you. This pneumonia bug is one that still baffles doctors because it is a chameleon type virus in that it changes form to be able to stay in your lungs. Otherwise your body usually rejects stuff and gets rid of it. But, once it changes shape your lungs don't recognize it anymore.
Guess it was good that I was already on zithromax because this is one of the only antibiotics that this pneumonia virus is susceptible to. So, they told me to keep taking it and to try and get through it as best I could. I guess even after this virus is dead, it can take up to six weeks of hacking your fucking lungs out until it's cleared out of your system. The antibiotics is all you can do beyond just suffering through it.
So, there's my fucking sobby sorry ass story of the day for you. I know, it sucks and it's not fun, and it's pretty gross. I know, but I haven't talked to you in three days and I miss my friends and my computer. I HATE BEING SICK!!!
Well, I'm hoping I will feel better by Monday so I can go back to work. I missed all last week, and I'm paid by the hour, so my paycheck is gonna be a week short.....
Send me some nice messages so I can feel better, k?
xoxoxo
