Hey!
I was called for a second online interview/survey to do again for Urban Outfitters a couple days after my in person interview. Now I have to wait a week to hear from them again. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get the job.
On another note, I'm going over to a friend's house to sample with him and a few other of his friends his parent's new HD TV. We're probably going to be watching Big Fish. I really want to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but most people find it scary. I'll bring it with me though, lol, just in CASE. lol That same friend is moving, in two weeks, to Philly to finish his senior year and finally get his Bachelor's from his Ivy League school. It's amazing, he's come a really long way to get to that point, and I'm proud of him.
Tomorrow I'm going to celebrate my friend's birthday with her, and we're going to possibly go to Newbury St., then out for kareoke, then out to a free concert that my roommate Matt is playing in.
I'm just lounging around until then. I drank some coffee this morning so I'd be awake, and it worked. I'm finally awake, for the first time in about a week I'm not sleepy.
One of my roommates is going to go to San Fransisco, and Matt will give his 30 day notice soon because he can no longer afford living here. He figures he'll spend a few weeks on his friend's couch and then after a film trip to NC go ahead and find a new place to crash.
I'm happy for Matt, because he's a cool person and I know he'll make it wherever. It'll be nice too, to have a roommate who will pitch in with the shared groceries and the cleaning sometimes. Right now, he takes out the trash but that's about IT. He doesn't really buy anything for the house. I know now, why, it's because he's broke. Sucks being poor. But fuck it, he eats out like three or four times a month so it's the way money is spent too, that's making it difficult for him. However, I understand that he needs to still enjoy life. You know? I can't say I've spent my money wisely either. I buy piercings and hair dye, and I'm going to buy myself a tattoo, so it really comes down to what's important to us individually.
I have another roommate leaving in late September, to go back to Romania, and another one moving in at that time. I'll be the only one left who's been here the whole time. I'll have seen people come and go, and be the only one still around. Wow. You know, I'm the oldest here apart from our landlord. He was 38 or so before he moved out and got his own apartment though, so I don't feel so old. He looks like he's 29 too. That, and he lives right down stairs so it's not like I'm the oldest one in the building. lol No one really thinks I'm as old as I am unless I tell them outright anyway. It's not like I fit in, because I'm the least educated and I know the least about cultural references and such. BUT, I don't stand out too much because I get treated decently and in spite of my lack of education I still get treated equally.
I almost always expect people and scholars to be snobs, but the ones I meet always turn out to be cool. Now that I know that, if someone actually were a snob I'd think they were one of the biggest jerks in the world. lol That's about it for me.
Take care and I hope you're all having TONS of fun and doing everything you hoped to do.
