i saw 'the hours' today. for a while, i felt very sad and deflated, but then i thought how virginia woolf said 'to look life in the face'. the motions people go through, the music we listen to and the movies we love, the people we surround ourselves with, our jobs and our faiths and our sex lives, it's all scenery. life, inately, is struggle and discomfort. but we can rise and meet it, we can look it in the face, we can accept the reality of our surroundings, and if we can try hard enough, we can come to find some measure of peace forged from our efforts, and that is happiness.

on a much lighter note, tooth whitening gel tastes like ass, and it makes your mouth feel like you just left the dentist's office. don't believe the hype.
