It's not hard to infer I'm in the military, I don't mention it a lot because usually it gives off a different impression than the one I like. Regardless, I've been stuck on a rock out in the middle of the ocean for the last three years, doing nothing but hopping to other islands and playing make believe scenarios over and over. The time has come though, the climax to my military career, climax in the literary sense mind you, is being realized with a six month deployment.
Sure, it's to a different floating rock, but from that one I get to see so many interesting places, I'll hardly be on the rock for a long amount of time. Korea, the Philippines, Guam, the South Pacific is my oyster. I don't know for sure which ones I get to touch down on, but the amount of training exercises out there insures I at least go to one other country.
I'd ask you to wish me luck, but I run around with explosive pipes over my shoulder, too much luck transferred to me will probably leave you with bad luck. I'm damn good at what I do though, failing that it's all chance.
