So..I should probably start updating this lovely journal. I'll start with something that concerns me that I posted recently on mycult/space...wich spurred from clicking around on netscape music..
Pink's new video for 'stupid girls' is rather interesting.
Now, I agree with some of it...that it is stupid to not eat ect & be unhealthy just to be skinny....and we have brains for a reason....however she depicts that stupid girls are the sexy girls....and the smart ones are in frumpy suits...or in grungy workout outfits playing football.
What's that mean? That we should try to be more like men, and hide our female sexuality?
I don't think we should be ashamed of our beauty, nore should showing it off automatically mean you want sex or are stupid.
You can't even wear a sexy outfit without a man wanting to jump in bed with you...can't you just compliment me. A short skirt isn't a verbal "come fuck me" it's "I'm a beautiful woman and proud of it" that doesnt make anyone stupid.
While on this subject..I'll ramble a bit more... about my interest in artistic nude photography, and fashion photography. My RA was offended by a simple black and white nude of Imogen Bailey I had posted on the outside of my door...a vintage themed shoot for black & white art magazine. (due to it being a public hall I agreed to take it down)
But, why are people offended by nudity when it's presented in a simple, innocent manner? It wasn't obscene or suggestive.
I'm thinking its because we've all grown up to view nudity and sexuality to mean sex. we associate even a completly natural and beautiful photo, with sex and obscenity.....because females and males are not brought up to respect the female body, and only recognize it as sex. I won't stand for that. I dont mean we should all run around naked obviously..everyone's body is sacred and special...not to be tossed about carelessly (this also relates to sex...sex is natural everyone woman should shamelessly enjoy and explore sexuality as men do as well..but NOT disrespect themselves, insticts, safety or emotions) However when skin is bared..especially in attempts for art....we shouldn't be ashamed of a the natural feminine beauty we all posess that no man can ever...
that's my opinion.
