well, well. 2010 is coming to a close. it's been a time. it has, without a doubt, been a year of more remarkable ups and remarkable downs then i've had in a very long time.
i'm working very hard on trying to shift my outlook in life--working toward focusing on the positive and doing one small thing around the house/with the dogs/for myself every day. so far it's going well, i think. good energy out, good energy in. in some ways i think that we really do live self-fulfilling prophecies, and by focusing on the positive rather than the negative i hope to change those prophecies i may have set in place for myself without realizing it.
i have a lot of things to be thankful for. i graduated with my mfa, thus getting me out of an extremely toxic academic environment. i went off of my antidepressants and my anxiety meds and have been working on dealing with things myself rather than chemically. i have a job that i love, and a group of people i clicked with almost immediately. i rent a fantastic house and got my fantastic dog in the past year. i'm working on surrounding myself with people that i love.
the best dogs i could ask for:
(such vicious, vicious pitbulls...)
i dyed my hair, leaving pink behind for the first time in years. it feels a little bit strange. life feels a little bit strange. perhaps this is all about growing up, which we never cease to do.
me, looking tired. perhaps because i am:
happy holidays, folks. happy new year. focus on yourselves and how fantastic you all are.
