For thems that have been asking: yes, I live in a pretty haunted neighborhood. Ed Wood had the last known address right down the street (a plaque really SHOULD be made for the dump he dwelled in during the last phase of his life), part iof it - in irony - now a rest hospital for mental patients...........right next to a 7-11. Very odd. The liquor store nearby still recalls Ed, in transvestive garb, cashing his checks there.
I lived fore a couple years at the Alrto Nido, where desperate screenwriter Joe Gillis stayed in SUNSET BOULEVARD - totally intact after all this time:a great place. Even lived UNDER the name Joe Gillis and I don't think one person got the gag.
And of course the sites of many deaths and weirdness on the corners of Wilcox and Hollywood Boulevard - Fred Mertz comes to mind, as well as the woman who was Autie Em.... THE HOLLYWOOD ROOSEVELT is a virtual merting place for ghosts of John Barrymore and his possee.
Always strange come Halloween time
