So I got home yesterday and I went to pick up Rosie (the tarantula) from our room and put her in the kitchen like I do every morning and I looked inside her habitat and realized she completely remodeled the entire place!
Most tarantulas are burrowers by nature but they're kinda opportunistic so if you give them stuff to hide under they generally won't bother digging and Rosie has plenty of things to hide under she's just a little more motivated I guess.
She made a bunch of holes and piled up mounds of dirt to close off one end of her little half log thingy she hides under so now instead of a tunnel it's a cave. Then she actually (and I don't know how) moved some of the rocks around that were in there. Then she made a web trap in three corners of the enclosure.
I have like the worlds most industrious tarantula, But also the hungriest. Instead of eating five crickets twice a week she eats like eleven.... Maybe she's pregnant? But they lay their eggs right away after being fertilized right? I'm not sure but she's been in captivity for a while and hasn't had any access to any males so I don't know how she really could be.
Maybe she's just pretending. Work sucked yesterday but the people from the wild animal park came in to do a presentation for the kids and I got to see all kinds of cool critters and stuff. That was nice. Prairie dogs and snakes and wallabey's and such.
I'm still sick as all hell so I'm gonna try and get in at the clinic today before I die or something. I need like a friggin shot of penicillin at this point.
That's all folks, at least for now, updates later.
