Last minute plans are great!
On Thursday I decided to leave work and go see the Barrel of Monkeys show ("That's Weird Grandma!") at Theater on the Lake then followed it up with the midnight screening of Pirates of the Caribbean in Evanston.
Friday I left work and headed over to The Hideout to see The Dollar Store Show which is a monthly show where actors/writers/performers are given one item purchased from the dollar store. Each performer has to come up with a story based around their object. My friend Jake did a beautiful and touching story based on an orange dog safety cape. After that I scooted over to The Subterranean where I caught the Celluloid Vaudeville show featuring the Dresden Dolls (*swoon*) where I bumped into Oxalis (that seems to happen a lot, yeah?).
And now I'm going to make some homemade whipped cream to go with some strawberries to bring to a pot luck pool party!
