from when my freinds did it, its a long process, but i think they used honey and just kept twisting them. good luck.

There is dreadwax (mostly beeswax) I believe. I spent 5 hours dreading a friends hair, only to have her decide she thought it looked stupid and shave it off. (Which is really the only option if you don't like the dreads.)
