Once you've lived in the city for a while, the small towns just don't measure up. I live in a town of 80,000 but am staying in a town of 2000 for a week.
My car gets stares as people drive by because of the out-of-province licence plate, and I know there will be whispers as I walk around downtown. "Who is that?" "is that HER?"
Yeah .. small town mentality.
