Earlier today:
So we live in this little old mobile home park full of elderly people... and sadly there are alot of unneutered cats here that just roam the park and multiply. Anyway that's another story.
This big fella, we're calling him Brutus has been coming through my cat door and eating my cat's food and drinking her water.
The first week he did this he always looked haggard and I felt really bad, though I couldn't catch him. We're going into week 2 now and he looks better, fatter and cleaner. Today he came into the house, ate the food, drank the water and walked down my hall. Then he sat on my couch meowing at me! SO I was able to sit next to him and he's VERY lovy dovey. I would say he weighs about 13 to 14 pounds and it's all muscle. He is indeed un-neutered and had a few fleas that I could see. He has really really thick long hair. Anyway. I gave him a flea bath and a flea treatment, and trimmed the fur between his toes. His gums are pretty pink and teeth were a little plaqued but otherwise white. None of my neighbors think he has an owner so i'm putting a flyer up in the front bulletin board and if he's not claimed he's mine. I already made an appointment to have his rogers cut off and a physical exam with bloodwork. (I have another cat so I need to make sure he's healthy.) Also, my cat couldn't care less about his presence, so Yay!
Anyone know what type of cat this is??? I looked up pictures and i'm thinking Maine Coon. What do you think?
9:00pm:
This is Soooo weird. I know he's feral. Every spring we see new litters of kittens living under other mobile homes and empty lots it's so sad. I've seen him around the dumpsters before and i'd say the last month or so he's been checking out my cat door. And over the last 2 weeks he's been quietly coming in to eat my cat's food at like 3am. I know this because he isn't used to eating out of a cat bowl and he knocks the bowl over and eats it off the ground. And now just today he thinks he lives here. He's been coming in and out all day. He's asleep on my husband's lap right now. And he even let's my 2 year old pet him. Wow.

Yeah so we're hanging out and Brutus is sleeping on the livingroom floor, beretta is on her kitty bed next to him...and we hear crunching munching noises. We both look down the hall. Another cat. GRR!
