How was my vacation, you ask? It went something like this:
When we went to pick up our rental car the agent informed us that they didn't have the car that we had reserved the day before. She said that the agency in Santa Barbara was supposed to bring it but they brought the wrong car. So she said that she could either give us a sedan or we could wait till seven for the SB place to bring the right car. Now, the reason we rented an SUV is because we needed an SUV. A freaking Avalon is not going to hold a stroller, bassinet, swing, and luggage for five people. She said that the only other thing she had were two MINIVAN's that were already reserved. T told the lady that she should let the other people wait for another car and she should give us the minivan. She ended up giving us the minivan.
Then, we get there and I get to see my nephew, who is the cutest thing to come along since Logan. We had an appointment to have pictures done with the family and let me tell you, it was tough getting two infants in a good mood at the same time! So,, we finally get to the studio and the guy had closed the place up and apparently left. It was only 6pm and they didn't close till 8. So finally after a big ordeal we find out that the guy was just trying to act like he was closed so that he wouldn't have to work. And then my brother and his wife decide to get into a loud-ass argument right there in the store. They yelled at each other for like 5 minutes before they took the baby and went home. This was before we got pictures.
Then we finally got to the part where we could go look for a car, which was the main reason we decided to take this trip at this time. My mom took us around looking and I think that since we pulled up in her $80,000, ridiculously embarrassing Mercedes, the salesman thought we were in the market for an overpriced, equally as embarrassing car we couldn't afford. By the time we stepped out of the stupid car there were salesman surrounding us, asking if they could show us something. So anyway, pushy salesman aside, after hours of test drives and negotiations, after we find a car that we love, AFTER we go into the office with the salesman and start talking financing and such. After all that, my mom decides to tell us that she's decided not to co-sign for a loan.
So the next day we decide that we'd better cut our losses and head back home. We get home to find that our two darling cats had been locked in our bedroom for the five days that we were gone. They used our bed as a cat box.
If it hadn't been for the fact that I got to hold my nephew, it would have been a complete waste of time and money. I'm glad there was at least one good thing to come of this vacation.
