Today was the funeral..
It was really nice day for a ride so the hour and a half ride up there was totally enjoyable
It was a beautiful ceremony everyone was in tears, even though I'm not big on the christian pomp and frills, the church was amazing and everyone wore blue instead of black because that was his favorite colour.
After the actual funeral it felt really good, made things better, so when we went to the wake it was all smiles and laughs, it was our old uni gang together again telling old war stories about various nights out and things.. was really nice,
I had to leave a couple of hours before the end but I stayed long enough to catch the balloons.
There were a dozen balloons at every table with tags and pens so you could write a message and then attach it to a balloon, then everyone took the balloons outside and released them on a count of three..
Only seen a couple of the pictures but they look good..
I'm in my bike gear because I was literally about to leave when H (the guys gf) told me to wait 5 mins and she'd hurry up the ballons which was really nice of her.
I'm glad my summer jacket is blue otherwise I would've stood out like a sore thumb in the shots.
Any way, was a nice day and a fitting end for a really nice guy.. He'll be missed.

The balloon idea is pretty beautiful.
I hope his girlfriend is handling it ok.
