This past week has been a trail of patience.
It started at 4am on Tuesday morning, My mum, sister and I hopped in the car and after some faffing about head off to Cardiff to look at flats/houses and so the Mother could go to an interview with Cardiff Uni
(She'll be doing a degree in Biological Psychology & Psychotherapy or something close to that, I always get the title wrong).
The trip is supposed to take 3-4 hours, Now the thing about my mum, although she's a great mum that I wouldn't swap for any other, She's both Bi-polar and a depressive (I might have made that term up, she suffers from depression) so most of the time she's either manic or really low, with the middle ground a rarity.
She was manic for this car ride, and because whilst manic she finds it hard to pay attention/focus/digest information it's a fucking chore to navigate.. specially when the most advanced directions you can give is,
"not this junction", "the (instert number) turnoff for this roundabout".
You also had to point because she has problems with her left and right..
The trip took almost 7 hours before we found the Uni, it's times like that I wish I could drive.
Me n the sis then wandered the half an hour walk into the center of Cardiff (the weather was torrential rain) and got some BK and wondered for 10-15mins round the indoor market before heading back to the car.
We spent the next 2days driving round Cardiff looking at differen't places or trying to find things.
The drive home only took 5 1/2 hours.
I'm swore on any future offspring I might have that I'll never get in the car with my mother for a long journey unless she has SatNav.
For the rest of the week it's all I've heard about from her, I need to get out of this house with some peeps for a while before sharp objects become a danger to the people I love.
Don't get me wrong I know it's important and a big change, but having your mum randomly shout across the house every 15-20mins (close to an hour if you're lucky) saying something she's probably already said 5 times gets to you after a couple of days..
I've applied for another couple of Webdesign jobs.. I really hope I hear back from them! least that way I could learn to drive!
The main one I want is less of a wage compared to the others but
FreeThinkingDesign looks like they do exactly what it is I want to do!
If I could just get to the interview stage I'll be set, it's just so fucking annoying that every "junior" webdev job recently has been snapped up by a mid-level/senior out of work designer willing to undercut themselves to get a job, Gah with a climate like that Juniors don't stand a chance.
Less of a blog more of a moaning vent,
Mybad.. Fer x

Glad to hear you are back on the scene. I look forward to hearing all about this weekend's event's then, so long as 1) Cider is involved, and 2) Indecency and naked photo's are NOT involved.
Have a good one!
