OK, so here is my update in a nut-shell.
My job is sweet. I spend all day playing with engines bigger than my car. I come home smelling like exhaust, but it doesn't bother me any more. I'm making petty sweet cash, and I'm well on my way to becoming a full engineer in a few years.
Columbus, IN isn't that great of a place to live. it's your typical Midwest trendy town with a hint of red-neck to it. They don't really have any bars here. I looked in the phone book and it's like a half page spread over 10 cities. Back home we had at least two pages just for our town, which was just about the same size. Hopefully when it starts heating up a little more I'll go outside and explore.
I'm thinking about getting a dog. I need to figure out what I'm going to do during the day. I have a friend that works second shift, so I'll probably just have him watch him until he goes to work, and then I'm home by then anyways. I've been looking at hounds and labs cause they are easy to train, and in my experience are very loyal. It will be a month or so before I get a dog.
I experienced some intense road rage today. I was on the highway heading to work, and there was a semi-truck ahead so I was getting ready to pass. I noticed a pick-up in the left lane, so I let him go first. As soon as he got by I get behind him, and after a while he pulled in the right lane. I then went to pass him and the semi, and when I got passed him he pulled behind me and turned his brights on. I hit the gas a little and got in the right lane and he pulled along side me. I then used sign language to tell him to go fuck himself. he pulled in front of me and started signaling me to pull over, but I didn't. Then rage mode kicked in and I made a plan to ruin his day. The ramp a mile ahead was one of those that had a steep valley between it and the highway. With the jack-ass still in front of me, I put on my blinker and he started to pull onto the off-ramp. Just before the valley I pulled back on the highway, and he started to follow, but saw the valley and pulled back. I would have felt bad if my plan worked and he crashed, but it would have been his own fault.
Well that's all I got.
