What a life!! Just had my new roommate move in. I hope this one works out, I've had way too many bad roommate experiences.
I'm back from my last trips to NJ, TX, VA, and OH. I'm just back this week, and then I'm off to Portland, OR, to see my big sister.
I miss my sister so much. The two of us have been very close since our brother died years ago. I really can't descrive how much I love my sister.
She's informed me that she's considering getting back into the dating scene for the first time since her divorce a few years ago. I'm really happy for her. She's never tried internet dating before, but I've told her about my successes, so she's got a profile in Match.
Work sucks as always, but I'm starting to get a little respect there. The scholarship committee wants to interview me before August, so I could be going off to school with a full ride for my master's soon (wish me luck!)
I took a class in international economics this past semester, but I had to submit my final paper via email, since I was on the road. Even though all grades are in, my professor hasn't graded my paper yet. He gave me an incomplete, and said he'll file a change of grade when he finishes it.
I guess when you are a Princeton PhD with tenure, you make your own rules.
Alas...
Anyway, I'm on the road again on Friday to Portland!
PS It is hard enough making friends in this town, but the traveling sure doesn't help... oh well.

as far as sentementailty goes, florence italy is my first choice. i have this fantasy about living semi monastically (except for the laptop and hopeful lack of cellabacy) and teaching and writing and studying art history,
practically speaking i'd probably be happier in a germanic country. i spent a semester in the netherlands in college and i really liked how progressive and tolerant their society is, the people are uber friendly and its a beautiful, compact country with good public transport. (that i already know how to use)
so its a toss up. i think it would be fairly simple to get a visa to either place, but what do i know...
