Staples job...
Where to begin. Okay I got the job to be Night Shift Stock crew at the Staples walking distance from where I live. I've had eight training shifts basically two weeks. I've learned the computer inventory system pretty good and I am starting to get a real good feel for the store layout. They have hired two more guys to work with me a Persian guy and a Kenyan.
Guess what though... A week into the job and I got a promotion. I am now the night stock supervisor. It is a bit of a raise and considerable responsiblity. I don't know how the crew is going to take the news about me being there boss rather than their buddy but enh. I'm ready for some responsibility and some money. I think they will be fine with it I mean I have been bossing them around from day one anyway, now it won't just be because I am a pushy bastard.
Only real downside to the job, I'll have to give up my writer's group meetings which I have been going to every two weeks for um a couple of years now. That and I'll be giving up on that plum gig at the Aquarium, heh. Working my last shift with them on Saturday so it appears I am missing out on 400lbgorilla's party/home renovation whatever.
Other news I had a great phone conversation or two with one of my friends from Calgary haven't talked to him in like a year really. Turns out he is doing an interview with someone involved with a book I fucking LOVE, Poker Without Cards by Ben Mack (My first amazon book review was made for that book, check it out) which I happened to be re reading right now as it is. I'm also re-reading The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson. It was excellent touching base and I love the little synchonicity involved. Don't know how much I will like the long distance bill for that day though.
