I've always felt that parties were the end result of a night of spontaneity. There are two basic elements required for a party to occur 1)instigators, and 2) go-alongs.
An instigator is a creative individual who has little or no regard for authority or social restraints. Go-alongs are just out to have a good time, and are often under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The instigator presents an unusual suggestion, to which multiple go-alongs support. The single act of stupidity results in fun, which attracts others, and eventually snowballs in to the phenomenon known as a party.
