I'm going to use this time to bitch and complain about this guy Jonathan.
I have three parties on the go for various things. I'm the planner in the group: its my thing. This is the story of how he is ruining all of my parties.
Party #1: End of School Celebration
So I thought of this with my friend Hong and we decided to leave it to me since I always organize things. I asked Priyana if we could use her fabulous basement, she agreed and I sent out an email. Just giving the choice of dates, the choice of foods, and what me and Priyana had agreed on for entertainment, which was watching Brokeback Mountain and just hanging out and chatting about the semester. A little alcohol, but out of respect for Priyana's house and family, no one would be getting plastered or anything.
So I get some responses to the email "sounds good", "see you then!" etc. Jonathan emails me. He goes on about how a movie about gay men would offend him so we were going to watch Kill Bill (?...we already watched this once as a group...) and how there wouldn't be alcohol. Also he was saying how he would steer the hanging out with games and stuff. WTF. Just the way he wrote it all pissed me off quite badly.
Party #2: Kristen and Chris' going away party
So Jonathan and Kristen had been semi planning this (except he just wanted to use her house for a party when it was under his control). So she messaged me about how he was driving her insane and inviting all these people she'd never met. She was all like "HELP", so I was like "fine, Jonathan listens to me, I'll swoop in and keep him under some control". So he's planning these games like duck duck goose (WTF!!), no alochol and wants KRISTEN to spend like 200 bucks on food for this thing. I suggest a going away party potluck. He bites. Good. I know Kristen and Chris LOVE to get drunk, and everyone in the group is a good fun drunk. We never pressure people to drink, and everyone who doesn't drink LOVES when the rest of us get drunk and make asses of oursevles. Except Jonathan. I say we'll have some fruity vodka drinks. He gets upset and starts ranting about how he doesn't want anyone to get drunk around him and how he wants the evening to revolve around the games he has planned. We're all up for games...provided we're drunk.
Party # 3 --My birthday (which is actually in between the two, but planned third)
Jonathan thinks he's planning my party. MY BIRTHDAY PARTY. MINE! I suppose since I made Kristen's going away party a team thing, my party is too, in his mind? The only thing is Kristen ASKED me to plan hers...I don't need help. I'm a party genius, at least the kind of parties my circle of friends like. I can cater to both the drunkies and those who refrain from alcohol. So I was discussing it with Hong and Jon was there. He started going on about what was going to happen. And I was like "Oh I'm talking about my b-day not Kristens and Chris' thing". He says he knows. (???). So he's going to be the bartender (WTFFFFFF) according to him and it's going to be a BBQ (I like my sandwich bar idea...). He also says he doesn't want people drunk around him... (but he's serving drinks). Then he says Adam can't smoke the whole day, despite it being at Adam's house. I say Adam smokes outside. Jon says NO. No time during the day, before or during the party. He also begins suggesting stupid games AGAIN.
AAUUUUUUUUUUUHG. I hate this guy. I'm trying so hard to be polite yet remind him our group doesn't revolve around him and his stupidity. I don't get it? None of us are horrible drunks, none of us pressure other people to drink. Us drunk is laughing and falling over. And telling the host of party not to smoke.
He's not invited to my birthday, btw.
I'm sure Kristen will not have him at hers.

I realize I'm control freak, but I do it with permission. AND, I ask things. Like I asked Adam today how many people I could invite and went over my guest list. Same with Priyana.

An instigator is a creative individual who has little or no regard for authority or social restraints. Go-alongs are just out to have a good time, and are often under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The instigator presents an unusual suggestion, to which multiple go-alongs support. The single act of stupidity results in fun, which attracts others, and eventually snowballs in to the phenomenon known as a party.
Killjoys (such as your un-friend Jonathen) ruin the party mood by being too whiny, up-tight, or rational.
