Just when i thought i knew all of Adelaide's well kept secrets, my friends showed my an amazing swimming hole today on the outskirts of the eastern suburbs, right on the fringe of bourgeouis suburbia, and it was a true oasis.
Out east there is foothills only ten k's or so from town and thats where the rich folk live, its leafy and green and the houses are BIG. Nestled amongst this one suburb on the edge, you wind down a labyrinth of streets then arrive at a reserve with a nice walking trail along a creek, follow that trail for a k or more through a cement works and you arrive at this incredible waterhole filled with clean cool spring water from deep below the Adelaide hills. Its truly wonderful. Apparently locals have kept it a well guarded secret for many years and one such local was visibly perturbed that a bunch of scruffy young people from Brompton had found our way there.
Its been killer hot here 38C or some shit today. The sun disappeared over the other side of the gully while i lay floating on my back, watching black cockatoos cut a striking path across the sky and listening to the local kids playing on an unpturned rainwater tank floating in the water, and i thought to myself....this is living!

yes there really should have been an Adelaide hook up already. Whenever i'm down there next i'll try and get to a meet if you are having one at the time.
and a question i have to ask all Adelaide people i meet, Power or Crows fan?
as for the adelaide SG burlesque, so happy to hear that.....any idea on the date?
