What a couple of weeks.
Since the shop laid off all the temps work has been less fun. Production is in a slump, but my workload has almost doubled. Moral is shitty, and most of the folks I used to goof off with are gone. I miss the overtime money too, 40 hour weeks are nice to work, but I just dont have the extra money coming in like I used to.
The whole deal is stressing be out a little. I hate stress I smoke, I like beer, and I come from a family with heart disease, I cant afford to stress. (sure, I could give up beer and menthols, but whats the fun in that?)
I bough On the Road: the Original Scroll by Kerouac about a week back. Its always been one of my favorite books, but I just learned of the Original Scroll edition (basically the first draft before all the names were changed, and the story was watered down so it could be published in the 50s).
Its got me thinking about taking a road trip. One of my best friends moved to PA a few months back, and Ive been dyeing to visit her. Since I prefer trips with solitude or close companionship over the never-ending floods of people and the chaos that follows them in airports, driving is a good option.
I have nine days paid vacation at work to burn up, and four more PA days, so Ive got the time. Its not a long trip 15 hours total if I loop down through Philly and DC on the way back. I could probably do it all in three days or so if I drive it right.
Its a really appealing concept, and Im really considering it.
If I do go Im thinking of buying a digital camera first. I think Im about the last person on earth still using a 35mm. Its just worked so well throughout the years, and theres nothing wrong with it, itll be sad to see it retire. Anymore though, I just scan the pictures and e-mail them anyway, so itll probably save me money if I go digital. Boy, am I behind the times

thanks, I really want this house, or at least a house like this one.
Im sorry work isnt going well, that really sucks, do you think they will ever bring the other workers back? why would they double some ones work like that, doesnt seen very productive. My job has always sucked and they just keep fucking things up.
I have always wanted to read on the road, is the original scroll a lot better?
Road trips are really fun, but I like to do them with a friend the best, just seems like more fun. I hope you do go and I hope it is a really fun trip.
There are a lot of people who still use a 35mm, I use both digital and a 35mm, I use my 35mm for my art photos and the digital for the other stuff, there are a lot of artist who still use 35mm.
What camera are you looking at getting? what 35mm do you have right now?
Well I disagree with you on that one, for me at least, I have to like a job to stay there, I dont want to spend the rest of my life at a job I dont like, I have been at the job Im at for a little over 2 years and it is time for me to move on, I will not be working there by the end of January, hopefully sooner then that, I dont care if it does pay me $17 an hr, I will take a pay cut to do something I like.
Well do you think I should read the other book first?
So your just looking for a little point and shoot then, well that should be easy to find.
