I watched Cold Mountain last night. It came in the mail through this Blockbuster program I signed up for. Good grief -- this movie is long, long, long. Parts of it are good. Parts of it are really good. But it gets a little bit, I don't know, sappy. The whole, our few minutes together is like a bag of diamonds BS. Ugh. I don't know. I know the feeling -- I've certainly loved someone so much that when torn away from them it only made what time we did have together seem like the most important thing in the world. But a bag of diamonds? That doesn't seem right. At least it had the Ruby character to show us our way out of that overly romantic mire.
