Wow, long time no update....
Lets see, whats new. Since the last time I wrote in here, I have been to Washington DC for a workshop with Ming cho Lee (one of the nations top set designers), which was awesome albeit stressful. And I designed a set for a show that will be in Cairo, Egypt, so thats really exciting. And school started (sort of... since I only have two real classes... god its good to be a senior). And I have one show (Iphigenia at Aulis) opening tomorrow up in from of Pioneer Theatre, and another (Richard III) opening up downstairs in the same place in like a month.
So stuff seems to be going pretty well.... of course, thats all on the surface. Inside I'm kinda a mess right now. I am not sure why, but the last month has just been terrible for me. I've been really depressed and hopeless, to the point of waking up sometimes going "Why bother??". And it makes no sense at all because everything is working out for me. Part of me feels like a big whiny bitch, but I really can't help it. Strangely, most of my friends have been having the same experience lately. I think it must be some kind of mid twenties period that we have to go through. Whatever it is, it sucks ass.....
Anyways, I can't believe this show is opening tomorrow! I got paid for this one, the first time thats happened. It wasn't a ton but it definetly made it worth my time. AndI really like what I have ended up with. The whole show is just really really good.
If anyone is in the Salt Lake area and wants to see a pretty good play outside on a nice cool morning, come to the front stairs of Pioneer Theatre at 9am saturday or sunday of the next 2 weeks. Seriously, its a pretty good piece, and you can support a fellow SG member in my attempts to be a designer! Come introduce yourself! I'll be the short kid with long hair hanging out around the soundsystem (probably)....
Right.... I'm out
