I found this old poem I wrote when I was moving back to Ottawa from after living in Toronto for 2 years.
Last night was my company Christmas party and I'm really hung over. Since I just left my job it feels accurate right now. Enjoy!
Two-Tone Parting
Current mood: contemplative
bare legs all tangled up
on dirty oak veneer
unfulfilled dust-bunny dreams
congregate to opposite corners
of my contentment
unfinished fantasies
half fiction
half reality
equal in their monstrosity
too large to transpose alone
a forklift to raise these hopes
ambiguous goodbye
awkward pause
graceless embrace
hesitant arms
disagreeing toes
and dominant foreheads
both go left and-
BANG!
but those eyes
tell a different story
(as they tend to do)
is it too soon or
have i worn out my welcome
in this open shoe-box
i live naked
and wave at the other shoe-dles
on the shelf across
the way
mostly two-tone disgust
at my exposed tongue
only the
comef*ckmeboots
ever wave back
no, no shoe am i
for if i were
with ease i'd walk away from here
unthwarted and unstoppable
destination known
estimated time of arrival in
5...4...3...2...
once i get there i'll drop ya a line
a misconstrued
want to see you
curved and broken
wrapped around intentions
hungry jungle vine line
but first these bare tangled legs
must detach from the oak
unwind and determine
a purpose in this
paint-splatter sized universe
unyielding
unrelenting along this journey
until that day we coincide
i will continue on
and that is when
i will say
'Goodbye'

Thats great poetry. My impression when I was reading it was you were in a not so good mood feeling a bit melancoly and wanting. Just my thoughts its good poetry though. Thank you for the friendship request I look forward to reading more of your work and getting to know you

Every once in a while I am blessed with the oportunity to meet a truly talented person who just amazes me. This is soo good. It makes me think, it makes me long, and it makes me regret. Will you give us more please?
