I had a kickass day off today !!!

I went to the Civic Center in the afternoon and saw "Bodies:The Exhibit". It was/is the most amazing thing I have ever laid eyes on. Anyone who has opportunity should go and see it. Check it out here Bodies: The Exhibit
I am still in awe from the beauty of the body. The polymer resin makes bones look crystalized, the muscles glow of like perfectly preserved lengths of bright pink carpaccio. (I even though of pink beef jerky and didn't think it was gross) They even had a series of the blood transportation ystem, entire networks of veins floating bright red in liquid. The fetus room defied reality, entire preserved fetus' from 6 weeks to 5 months. The detailing was so immaculate, the skeletons even has eyelashes.
It was creepy cool. The display is breath taking and informative. It made human anatomy and physiolgy come to life. GO SEE IT IF YOU CAN !! *****

*pout* there were no good books at the store. The one time I would pay the exorbitant prices for a book at a showing and it didn't exist, and I couldn't take my camera. I am at a loss for words, I feel the images slipping from my mind already.



I also went to the High Museum and saw Chuck Close: Self Potraits. His large scale grid paintings from his own self portraits were amazing. His last 2 pieces showed his mastery and unique voice. They were so beautiful!

The weather was fabulous as well. Nice and sunny, little chill in the air. I found a new trail to go running. I am gonna take pics tomm, there's a beautiful lake, and fabulous secret places I wanna explore.
