I was pondering something the other day while sitting on my throne in castle Geekula located in The Land of Geekdom. Girls, they are a great mystery I cant figure them out heres why, with the turning times it seems the female populace of a generation has some form of attractive class of men they go after.In the 50s you had Greasers, The 80s Jocks (go watch a John Hues movie if you dont believe me). The 90s started with Grunge guys and that tapered off toward the end. Now at the turn of the millennium something odd is happeningThe Geeks get there turn.
To bag a chick in todays society all you need to do is pull of the geeky look and youre golden. Its worked for me thus far and I did not even try! I perfected the geek look many years ago and it just happened to become an advantage.
Typical female response Example:
Me at age 15: Ewww a Geek go away!!!
Me at age 21: Oh, a Geek, want my number?
Its quiet odd and as a Geek Ive noticed my people have been up in arms about the situation. Many of them dont know how to respond to advances from a girl, as they hide behind there Dungeon Masters Guide or busy them selves rolling D20s, so here is some advice to my fellow geeks.
Be yourself give them what they want dont be afraid to quote Star Wars in public. Even if she dose not get the silly wookiee joke or Darth Vader quote you just made she will still laugh at your adorable Geekness.
Further more encourage it in her, show her the fun she can have reading comics and playing video games until her brain is numb.
GEEK CEHCK LIST
1. One pair of black rim glasses (ala Rivers Cuomo)
2. Converse shoes of any color
3. Sweaters and collared shirts
4. Goofy comic book print or pop culture T-shirts/Sweatshirts
5. Hip paper under arm such as the Portland Mercury and or a comic book
6. Vast knowledge of at least one subject of pop culture such as music, film or comics.
7. Over the shoulder style satchel bag
8. Mop top hair cut, or spike your hair
9. Friendly none aggressive aura
10. Shy but flirtatious smile.
