This cartoon particularly amused me in this week's New Yorker:



Also, while I'm thinking about the subject, Louise Erdrich's story from last week's issue was exceedingly satisfying. It deals with questions of identity (intellectual, sexual, and ethnic), but is most pleasing in the delicate touch applied to these themes, which are too often treated with ham-fisted inauthenticity.
