I had an interesting day.
I got up, got myself all ready for the SGSeattle Event, then called the local Mini Dealer. They said it was a 6 month waiting list for new Mini Coopers.
In 6 months, I could probably have a decent downpayment and my financial situation is going to me way more appetizing for the dealers financial department. I'll have a fulltime job and lower rent.
So, I ordered my Mini. I only have to pay 500 bucks now as a deposit that I can get back before the car goes into production. even after, I'm not obligated to buy, but I'll lose my deposit.
Also, I got to go to the SGSeattle Event. I have to say that I haven't had that much fun, or felt so good, in a long time. Thanks to everyone who attended and made me feel welcome, it means a lot. I'm going to be sure to get to know you all.
Since I'm still up, I thought I'd share some thoughts I had. I'm a Christian, which I sometimes worry scares people. With all the "PC" and "Tolerance" that this site offers to pretty much every viewpoint and lifestyle, I still don't have to look very hard to find animosity and ridicule for my faith. Many news articles are newsworthy here because they are some conservative christian with his own agenda wants to say something is evil and wicked and everyone but him is going to hell.
I want you to know, if you don't know me yet or you have had it in the back of your mind, that I am not one of those people. I don't preach at people. I don't tell people they are in sin. In fact there's a great many things that I don't even think are sin, and further reasons I have why whatever sin a person does do isn't really important in the long run. I care about my faith, but it doesn't control me. I enjoy talking about my faith and debating, but I believe firmly that people need to decide for themselves what they believe. I can't make the decision for you, and it has to be something you want and not something you felt forced to do.
As a Christian, I feel my "job" is to be there for people, to care about them and to help them when they are hurting. I believe I'm supposed to live at peace with people and not make trouble for them. I'm supposed to know what I believe if people ask, but only say something if they ask. you will never hear me say "that's wrong" or "you shouldn't do that". Those are your decisions to make and I respect them. I'm not out to convert or save anyone.
Second, at the SG event there was some talk about sexual orientation, and it got me thinking about my own. I don't think I can really say what I am because I'm a virgin. But I find both guys and girls attractive. However I'd say that for me, sexually I'm a hedonist. I'd probably find pleasure where pleasure is to be found. on the same time, I'm not promiscuous. I would most likely confine sex to romantic relationships. I could only love one person at a time. So far I've never wanted a romantic relationship from a guy, but I have to admit that it is a possibility.
Lastly, combining the first topic with the second, really and honestly, I could care less what anyone is. I'm not going to make any issues because it's not for me to make and I think it's silly for people to fuss over how others live their lives.
