starting work today at the new job. the owner is russian, and although he does speak english he can get his prepositions mixed up. makes for interesting conversation. I'm getting paid $8 an hour in cash, and probably will only work 20 hours max.
I can probably also stay at my job doing cartpushing for 24 hours a week. it will give me benefits, and that's really the key. also, it will be during waking hours, which isn't a bad thing. If I can't get 24 hours a week, I can't get benefits, and that'd be my only reason to stay there. Since fred meyer got bought out by Kroger, they have started treating their employees like crap (this lay off being one such instance).
I'm really tired. I only got 4 hours of sleep so far today, I might get 1 more hour before work tonight and then 2 more hours after work tomorrow morning before I go to work for the new job all day (11-6).

Which isn't to say that there aren't historical accuracies in the bible. There are, without a doubt. But I don't see how, on a whole, that it can be treated as (pardon the term) gospel truth. There is much (at least in my eyes) that requires a great deal of faith to accept at face value.
But perhaps that's the whole point - taking it all on faith. If that's the case, then I'm afraid that I'm a bit of a doubting Thomasina.
At any rate, here's some questions for you to start off with:
Noah's Ark - how could one man living in ancient times manage to build a boat massive enough to house 2 of every land-based animal on the planet? Further, how could that man possibly manage to collect 2 of every creature on earth, when there were areas of it unheard of at the time? What happened to the ark? Where is the scientific proof that a deluge great enough to cover the surfaces of the earth ever happpened in history? Why does no other religious or historical document of the same era make no mention of it?
Hope that's not to many questions to start you off with...
But what is the reason? Science??? Logic???
Would you disagree that reason has a limit when it comes to God? A limit set by God?
I'm probably trying to push something here that isn't directly related to biblology, which is why I'm posting here instead...
