You've probably seen all the good popular movies, so I'm going to go a little more obscure, but still fucking great:
1. Dead Man - Johnny Depp stars in a black-and-white western. He's shot in the chest at the beginning of the movie and wanders around the whole rest of the film bleeding. The Indian, "No Name", who befriends him is great. It's a little uncomfortable to watch, but good.
2. Run Lola Run - German movie filmed in real-time and set up simply: Lola's boyfriend calls her, saying that he will be killed unless she can come up with 100,000 euros (?) in the next thirty minutes. She doesn't have a car. She has to run. Brutally intense and surprisingly philosophical.
(We have it on DVD if you'd like to borrow it.)
3. Freaks - I think it's pretty rare, but I remember that Tawnya had a copy on VHS. It's a black-and-white film about love and betrayal in a circus sideshow. All the characters in the movie weren't actors, they were actual carnies. Surprisingly moving. Kind of twilight-zone-ish.
