I'm super frustrated. Why can't anything just be simple? We moved into this apartment and things seemed great. Now, mind you, everything I'm about to rant about is fixable--but frustrating, nonetheless.

The heat is always an issue. We have a baby in the apartment, so it's not just me being a whiny tenant, but 65 degrees is not acceptable for a baby to be sleeping in. He wakes up in the middle of the night with cold appendages and face. The baby monitor will only pick up the people upstairs snoring because there's too much interference in here. The washer drains into the tub making it so that i will NEVER take a much desired bath. And yesterday I came home to discover that the kitchen sink had overflowed from water upstairs into the cabinets, drawers and all over the floor while we were gone. Brett called the landlady immediately and left a nice message asking her to get back to him because there was an issue with the sink.
Today, just about a half hour ago, I was playing with Finn and putting away some stuff when I heard the dreaded splish splash of water pouring down again. I went with Finn in my arms and knocked on the door. After about 5 minutes of intermittent knocking, she answered the door. I explained what was happening and that Brett had called last night. I also explained that it was an issue before, but only a little water and that Brett thought this would be ok because "we are in a basement" (for the record, I did not think this was ok). She says, "OK," and shuts the door. And now, nothing. Not even a concern as to whether or not it is still happening or something to let me know they are going to do something about it soon.
It's frustrating more because we don've have a baby gate to keep Finn out of there. It's also frustrating because since this has started being a real issue (3-4 days ago), I haven't been able to wash all of the dishes because the sink had already been filling up instead of draining. The kitchen has dirty dishes strewn around in an effort to keep them from getting more disgusting water to soak in and to give the sink as much space to fill before it overflows. There's no way to catch the water because it just pours out all sides of the sink.
Ughhhh, I have a blueberry crisp to bake tonight before heading to Brett's parents. We have to eat. My kitchen is nearly unusable at this time.
I hate this.
