This is my first attempt at a blog so I'll start brief. The reason why I wanted to start this blog was to document my trip to the Philippines as part of the Canadian forces disaster response team, and to let people know what we have been doing to help the people of the Philippines after the devastation following the recent typhoon. I plan to update as often as I can but I have limited access to the internet. As of writing, I have been able to assist medics in distributing care to the people of two towns. Care ranging from simple blood pressure checks to minor surgeries.
In addition, I have been able to help the engineers to rebuild a school, where the roof had been completely destroyed in some sections. As well as prepare an evacuation site by building shelter and latrines for hundreds of displaced people. I hope that in the coming weeks I can share many more experiences.
