today i woke up at 2:30. mat rolled out of bed and rubbed my feet with some foot lotion and i realized for the bajillionth time how lucky i am to have him in my life. that is a sweet way to wake up.
we ate black raspberries for breakfast and then walked to the lake. we saw cute baby ducks there. on the way home we saw two squirrels playfully humping, and one baby bunny.
then mat rolled a joint and i made veggie burgers. we walked around town and found a curved secret door under the bridge by john nolen drive. we couldn't see inside the bars because it was all black but we could hear water dripping inside. i wonder what's in there.
then we went to the rooftop garden on the terrace and stayed and talked there until the sun set. as we were leaving, we saw a baby duck squeaking and frantically running from two dykes. but they were really nice and were only trying to help it get down to the lake... not sure how it would have gotten all the way up to the roof garden, and i'm sure it wouldn't have been able to find its way down again. so we helped them chase it down and they took it to the animal shelter because it didn't have a mama.
then we went to the top of a parking ramp and enjoyed the view while smoking the joint.
then we sat in the casbah waiting for a hookah and some wine. i think the waitresses and waiters there must all hate us because we never get any service. we sat there for 15 minutes after being seated downstairs when we realized these bitch-asses were never coming, so i got some awesome key lime pie across the street and almost creamed my dress.
it was a pretty good day.
countdown: two days until portland trip, 37 days until portland move!
