I'd go with insecurity but I don't think that's specific enough or exactly accurate. Personally I think it's a lack of trust more than anything.

If you don't trust your partner or vice versa then you'll want to keep them away from distractions.

But if you CAN'T trust your partner then you shouldn't waste your time with them. Point blank.

But to it all boils down to how much you trust that other person.

he causes heart ache and pain everyday. he still talks to his ex who he broke up around the time i talked to you, he stil barley takes care of his children.
