I figured I'd jump on the wagon and do the homework blog about my pet. My fur baby is a male tabby cat named Odin (full name is Odin Bilious Spiderman). He's an indoors cat, and is pretty lazy and very affectionate. He's also pretty naughty as he knows what he should and shouldn't do--but he does the naughty things anyway! He turned two at the end of December and, in a way, he's my little rescue animal.
At the time when I took him in, South East Queensland was experiencing some major flooding. My cousin and his fiance were out driving in the (incredibly) wet weather when--in the glare of their headlights--they spotted a tiny wee kitten in the middle of the road. They swerved, pulled over, hopped out of their warm vehicle into the icy downpour, and plucked the kitten from the road. Getting back into their car they warmed him up with their clothes and, as there was no sign of any other cats or kittens, they took the little bundle home with them. They knew almost straight away that they wouldn't being able to keep the kitten, as at the time they were living in a household that already housed a cat--an older female that was used to being by herself. They put a post on Facebook with a photo, I saw it, and that was that.
I fell in love with the cute little face and, as I had not long moved into my own place, knew that I had the means to take care of this little life. I contacted my cousin and his fiance and asked them if the little bundle was a girl or a boy. They weren't entirely sure but they thought my main man had been a girl! Hahaha. Going with this, I even had a name picked out for my baby 'girl', Lily. I told them I would take the kitten myself and it was all arranged. Needless to say, when they turned up and placed him in my arms I knew soon enough that 'she' was actually a 'he', haha. I dubbed him Odin, and he has been my child/pet ever since.
The first photo is a fairly recent one of Odin. The second photo is the first picture I ever saw of him, the same one that I fell in love with!
Thanks guys, Faeviel xxx
