Horizon Zero Dawn is a beautifully created open world game with a variety of terrain from jungle to ice peaked mountains throughout its decent sized map
With a strong main story and plenty of side quests and bandit camps to take on Horizon Zero Dawn promises its players a fantastic game that is both breathtakingly beautiful and unique in its entirety. (I mean how many other games have you played shooting robot dinosaurs and taking control of them?)
The story focus's on Aloy, a driven and strong minded protagonist who starts her life as an outcast and no knowledge of her parents. She is raised by a charming and doting man named Rost, and after a unpleasant event she asks him to help her become part of the Brave to win the chance to find out about her parent.
Time progresses and Aloy turns into a bad ass ginger with not just epic fighting and ninja skills, but a great personality too. (Skip the important story and plot so no spoilers)
Aloy roams the land in search for the truth and is wrapped up in something much more troubling along the way finding out the history of the 'old ones' and what really happened all them years ago.
Horizon Zero Dawn has plenty to do in ways of side quests and allows you to build your own weapons, so obviously you need to forage for certain items, hunt and trade for others. It is also really giving when it comes to getting trophies (yay!)
I find this game to be one of the best I have had in a long time, its originality and the fact the game was pretty much finished on release makes this game so enjoyable. The character voices are spot on and they create the right emotion for the situations, giving you a deeper connection to the character and the game overall.
One of the things I liked about this game is that the Developers never made Aloy a sex symbol, so many games focus their female characters around being half naked and big boobed (think Lara Croft...mmm) But in Horizon Zero Dawn they have made Aloy a realistic character neither too ugly nor insanely attractive.
The gameplay is smooth, and though I did find a few glitches they never impacted the game enough to be a concern.
Horizon Zero Dawn (Aloy) is supposedly going to be the Mascot for Play Station and take over from Drake (Uncharted) A fantastic move by Sony as this games developer clearly has time to make games for players that want more than just another Assassins Creed or C.O.D.
I rate Horizon Zero Dawn a big fat 10/10 !
