Today I went and got my car checked out and went for my yearly female doctor appointment in quincy.
I spent some time with my parents then began the trek home. I took the Mass Pike because its the easiest way home. Right before the first toll booth I pull into one of the lanes and wait for my turn and suddenly my car jerks forward. Someone hit me from behind. Now I wasn't being slow or not moving forward when I was supposed to. I started to pull over so that the other person could as well but then I notice that they have backed up and they speed off and go thru the fastlane. They didn't even stop. I got a small satisfaction out of the fact that their front bumper was hanging off a bit. I pull up to the toll booth and ask if the guy saw what happened. He said he didn't but saw out of the corner of his eye the guy flying thru the fast lane.
I was talking to Justin on the phone at the time and I got off and called 911. They had me go to the state police barracks near natick. I asked if I had to go all the way in the building because I'm on crutches and the guy said that he was the only one in there so I would have to. I pulled in there and finally got a good look at the back of my car. The back right section is completely caved in where the lights were. I walk up the handicap ramp and look in the building... I see two guys in there. I struggle with the door and almost trip going in because the door is so heavy. The guy in the booth just watches me and I can see a guy walking around in the back. I finally get up to the booth and he is on the phone and holds a finger up for me to wait. I wait a moment then he says that he can't do anything for me there but I can go back in my car and call the number that he writes on a post it note. He says that I may have to go to another station to report the accident. So I go back out the door, almost trip again going out because of the heavy door. I get in my car and call the number. The guy on the other end of the line is a lot nicer. He takes down all my info and tells me that there was a witness that called in the accident at the same time as I did. He said that I didn't have to go to another station but asked for a contact number in case he needed to call me. He also said that since the guy/girl went thru the fastlane if he/she didn't have a fastlane tag they will take a picture of his/her license plate. I really hope that happens.
So I drove home, the car is running fine. It seems that its just body damage and I can still open the trunk. I am going to be calling my insurance company in the morning and putting in a claim.
