So last night me, Justin and Erin went to a fundraiser for the CT Rollergirls team, CT's first female roller derby team. We had an absolute blast. There were girls going around on skates serving shots, girls that you could arm wrestle with, girls skating around in short skirts and pink shirts with their names on the back. I loved it. We only stayed for about an hour and a half because all of us had to get up early in the morning. All of us participated in the arm wrestling. Justin lost because they cheated it probably would have worked if there werent about 3 girls all helping to bring his arm down. Erin walked up and she said she heard something like Oh this is going to be easy and she lost. I went up and I heard She is so going to kick my ass and I did. The girl tried to cheat, using both hands, and she still didnt win. Afterwards the girl said So you are joining our league right? and my response was Actually, yes. And the three girls that were standing there all grinned. It was awesome. I dont know if I mentioned it or not but Thursday Erin called me and invited me to the event and I started looking into the league and I started thinking that I could really play. So I emailed the league and I got an email back right away and I have decided that Im going to join. So pretty soon all of you are going to know a rollergirl! Me! Isnt that awesome! I got to meet all the girls and get the chance to talk to a few. Last night was the deciding factor for me to join. The response that I got from all the girls about me joining was so encouraging. I felt welcome. Its going to cost me a bit of money but if I dont try I wont know if I will enjoy it or not. Its going to cost me $40 dollars for the first 6 practices/3 weeks. Its called the Wannabe fee because its to see if you really want to join the league. After the first 3 weeks there is a joining fee of $100 which includes the first monthly fee. Every month after that it is a $50 monthly fee. You have to buy your own equipment and derby skates. I have already figured out that because I worked an extra shift last week I can afford to get the skates this week. I also need to get a helmet, mouth guard, elbow pads, wrist guards and knee pads. I found some awesome skates.



I cant wait to get them. They told me last night that I can start next month. Well first they asked if I would be ready to start next month and I said sure. I love the fact that they were so psyched about me joining. I think this is going to be a great opportunity for me. It will give me a chance to meet some new people and to get out of the house more often. It also gives me something that is mine not justins and mine. He has has his martial arts classes and wrestling classes but I havent done much. He is so psyched about it too. Its so awesome! So who would be up for going to the games if I end up playing? For some reason I cant imagine my parents going to see my games if I get to play. It is also going to give me a chance of getting out and getting some exercise.
