I just watched the King Kong trailer and I have to say that I'm EXTREMELY unimpressed. Oh Peter Jackson, why couldn't you have done another low-budget horror flick again?
Thankfully though the past couple of Fridays at the movies has been AWESOME. First there was Batman Begins and this past Friday was Land of the Dead which made me want to run out of the theater and into the streets in my underpants...it was well worth taking a half-day at work. It's unfortunate that it's only brought in $10million domestic, it deserves to rake in far more. On top of that I was finally able to see the Serenity trailer on the big screen. I cannot wait to see that flick. I'm re-watching Firefly, what an amazingly brilliant show. Way better than Buffy and Angel and I won't hear it otherwise, those shows make me cringe. Also, let's not forget Joss Whedon still has a black mark for writing that horrid pile of crap, Alien: Resurrection. Sorry dude, I had to go there.
September looks to be the awesome month this year. Not only is the forementioned Serenity hitting theaters, but it's my 23rd bday (thank you thank you, hold your applause) AND the Family Guy movie comes out on DVD...uncensored! Speaking of which, anybody been watching the new episodes? The Firetruck sequence last week almost made me piss myself...I love that fucking show. American Dad is aces too...Roger is too much - "What, too fabulous for you?! I hate this place." In relation to all of this here is one of the greatest pieces of art EVER! If I had $$ to waste, I would scoop this bitch up.
Now that the fun and good times have been stated. Let me complain for a second. Anyone ever see Infernal Affairs? It is one of my all-time favorite films. It's such a fantastic piece of cinema, everything about it just oozes style and class. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I urge you to find a copy and love the hell out of it. Anyways, the butchers who have to remake everything here in the states have gotten their grubby hands on it. It's being remade as The Departed - directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Matt Damon, Leondardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson and Marky Mark (sorry man, you'll never get the full credibility, even if The Big Hit was fucking awesome).
The casting choices are horrid and I think Scorsese is long past his prime of making anything close to a good flick. Not only that but the film will be set in Boston revolving around the Boston cops and the Irish mob. Ummmmmm, hardon for Boondock Saints anyone (another excellent flick)? Now, to add piss to the fire, check this out.
That makes me sad. I have nothing left to say about it.
On a final, brighter note. I'm going to Boston this weekend to visit some friends. Should be a good time!

Hope you have a good weekend.
#2) Speaking of spending, thanks for the little mention you made about the group out of Seattle. I liked them enough to get the cd, which is a rarity nowadays.
