I had dinner with a priest tonight...that's not a joke, honest truth.
You see, since my grandfather passed away in january, my mother had a kind of reawakening in her faith. There were a bunch of different factors that kept her sane during the ordeal of watching my grandfather slowly dying, which she attributed to the big man upstairs. That's what I think the true meaning of faith and religion is all about, finding even the tiniest piece of solace, on your own...not having it crammed down your throat. But before this becomes a diatribe on the spiritual, we'll just drop the subject.
Anyways, I was a little uncomfortable about the whole thing, but I agreed to attend because I knew it would put a smile on my mom's face. Oh the stubborn bastard that I am...it was a fun time and I'm glad I was there.
Afterwards I caught Sin City (how's that for a situational segue?) which was absolutely amazing, all must go see it! My only gripe is that the theater was as cold as a meat locker. I swear you could've refracted the projected image off my nipples because I think there was some crystalline formation happening.
Another weekend comes to a close. I'm a little worried for the week though. I've agreed to meet my ex for dinner at the sushi place. I really really hope she doesn't drop the "we should get back together" thing on me because I really don't want to. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be a nice dinner without a bunch of nonsense. Yeah right, who the hell am I kidding?
Wish me luck!
I will see this in the theater. I haven't been to a theater since Spider-Man 2 and that sux for a guy that's a movie fanatic.
