Of course this is a much better story when you hear it live, but for the sake of a current journal entry I'll recap how I nearly lost my mind tonight...

So I hop my usual bus from Santa Monica...a little faded, but I wouldn't say stoned...didn't feel like listening to the ole ipod so I decide to read a little...I break out the script I'm studying (The Shootist, an old John Wayne movie)...BIG mistake...within a matter of 4 bus stops I start getting that headache-y motion sickness type thing...So I put it away and try to will away my newly aquired discomfort...The bus continues to fill moderately...I have my own seat still...But the soft, barely audible music from other peoples headphones starts to pick at me...I mean we're talking like three different angles here...We've got Mariachi shit coming from behind me...Something incredibly thumpy and repetitive in front of me, and the dude hovering above me from the aisle was enjoying something KROQ-y...You know aggresive and full of angst...Your basic Puddle of Muddle/Staind Biscuit variety...So I figure fuck this if I have to listen to all this madness, I might just as well listen to mine...BIG mistake...This probably sounds funny, but it's true...I have a tooth well overdue for attention (yes I know...I'm looking into it...) and lately has been flaring up...well I've discovered that sometimes listening to my headset can kinda' irritate it...I don't know...maybe my eardrum and molar are on the same nerve channel...or maybe that's ridiculous and it's nothing but coincidence, but it has happened before...Anyway so I go from like zero to ninety down toothache lane...My trusty Advil gel caps in my man purse...ready to go, but guess what - no water...no ice tea...no yoo-hoo...no coffee...no nothing...But the toothache is driving me crazy...this on top of motion sickness and the grating symphony of shit coming from every which-a-way...Now the bus is getting crowded and a mild case of clousterphobia (I'm not looking that shit up) begins to blossom...The tooth is killing me to the point I can't take it anymore....I build up a nice mouthful of natural juice and pop the first Advil in...Man that bad boy went down hard...I don't know if I can get the second one down...But I have to...I don't know if these things even work individually because I've only always taken two at a time...Again I conjur up the juice and try for Advil gel cap #2...BIG mistake...That fuck gets stuck sideways in my throat or something cuz I can't get it down...So for the next dozen and a half blocks it's latehr rinse repeat...lather rinse repeat...I'm trying to get down this fucking pill...So I finally couldn't take it anymore...I had to get off the bus, only now the Gel cap lodged in my esophugus (not looking that one up either) has burst and my throat is beginning to burn a little...I rushed to the nearest place available, which in this case was a Starbucks...And well...I guess that's about it...The upside is #1, my tootache went away shortly after...and #2 my favorite coffee shop girl was working and I got me a free javachip....I guess all is well now...I will now go home and brush my teeth....
