Two exams down, two to go.
My sociology prof from this semester and his weife (my sociology prof from LAST semester) apparantly talk about me outside of school. haha. . . I got a paper back today after the exam (I got an A, mostly because of the last remark I made about W). Dr. Majka made a note at the bottom: "And by the way, Linda and I have chosen a graduate school for you." Hm. . .
It looks like it snowed outside. I brushed Gopal.
Yesterday was awesome. Hung out with Kierston all day. Got her measured for a bra; the girl wears a 36F!!! She was wearing a 36C! It's crazy how good she looks now that they're locked and loaded.
Got home and Tim's buddies were over. Somehow, certain members of his crew always manage to make me feel like total shit.
Yesterday was the big immigrant protest. I love it. I'm not sure what the results are going to be, but I'm hearing some seriously ignorant reactions.
1- The jobs that illegal immigrants take, no one wants. Believe me. You wouldn't accept 18 cents a bushel to pick fruit.
2- The workers don't drive wages down. The employers do.
3- This country was built on stolen labor in the first place.
4- Your ancestors were not born in this country (Unless you're a First Nation person).
5- Illegal immigration is not solely from Mexica, Guatemala, etc. People are smuggled into this country for various reasons and from various countries. Many undocumented immigrants are even legally here, or are stuck here by some ill swing of fate (expired visas, sex trafficking, refuge, etc.)
6- Spanish. Hearing the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish is awesome. That the song holds meaning for many. This demonstrates it. It may even hold MORE meaning for Spanish-speaking people who are not yet so disenchanted as some of us.
7- Spanish II. If you miss out on a job opportunity because you aren't bi-lingual, that's not an immigration issue. It's a demonstration of the American public school system's inability to prepare students for employment competition in the globalized workplace.
8- "If you're an illegal immigrant and you don't show up for work, it makes it obvious that you're an illegal." A) Shut up. B) Employers, particularly those who employ large numbers of illegals, KNOW their employees are undocumented, and even engage in cross-border recruitment practices. C) Yesterday's demonstration was about more than just illegals; it united immigrants and compassionate people.
9- The Minute Men. Holy fuck. What the hell is that all about??? You people are fucked up. Seriously.
In other news, Kiska colored my hair last night. It looks fab! Of course. We'll be adding more to it in a couple of days.
I went shopping last night. Guess where I went. . .
Wanna know what's in the bag?
Oh my!
